Hospital de Amor de Barretos
The artist Alok and the Alok Institute support the Hospital de Amor, formerly known as Cancer Hospital of Barretos, a philanthropic health institution specialized in the treatment and prevention of cancer based in Barretos, São Paulo, and actions also in the Midwest, Northeast regions. and Northern Brazil.
In response to the mobilization of the Challenge of Good from Americana, we established a partnership for the purchase of chemotherapy drugs, hospital medical supplies and hygiene/cleaning and disposable material for the child care unit.
About the Hospital of Love
On March 24, 1962, a general hospital was created in the center of the city of Barretos, in the interior of São Paulo, named after Saint Judas Tadeu. In 1967, Pio XII Foundation was created, an entity that became the sponsor of the institution, which started to care only for patients with cancer.
The project gained large proportions with the help of the community, artists (among them, Alok), the private sector and with government financial participation, other areas of the hospital are being built to serve, free of charge, cancer patients who come to us. In November 2017, the institution took as its name the nickname by which it was already known among its patients, family members, doctors and partners, changing its name to “Hospital de Amor”.
It has more than 58 years of history and international recognition for its excellence in technology and humanized care. Hospital de Amor currently has more than 5,300 employees working in its dozens of treatment, prevention, rehabilitation and research units, related to the oncology area, spread throughout Brazil.
