Pediatric Oncology
FAP Hospital
Instituto Alok supports Fundação Assistencial da Paraíba (FAP), known as FAP Hospital, at the beginning of its activities in the childhood cancer scenario. It is a daring, bold and costly task. The funds are intended to be added to the fundraising campaign for setting up clinics, chemotherapy infusion center and ward, in the recommended models to accommodate the sick.
INCA (Brazilian National Cancer Institute) studies show that cancer is the disease that kills most children and adolescents in Brazil and the second leading cause of death in this age group, surpassed only by accidents and violent deaths. Pediatric Oncology in Brazil shows few advances in the results obtained in relation to developed countries, being also surpassed by Latin American countries such
as Chile, Argentina and Mexico.
