Do Campo pra Mesa

Instituto Caminhante

Instituto Alok joins Pastor Henrique Vieira (Baptist Church of the Way) and a team of volunteers from Instituto Caminhante who are developing the “Projeto +2” in Morro da Providência (Rio de Janeiro).

“Two more”, because it fights hunger and strengthens family farming.

It is a very simple and very effective action: products are purchased from the MPA – Movimento de Pequenos Agricultores (Small Farmers Movement) and make up a basic basket with only agricultural, non-industrialized foods. They feed those in need and strengthen family farming.

Families are registered by the SOS Providência collective and the baskets contain sweet potatoes, onions, brown sugar, rice, beans, cornmeal, cornflakes, bananas, oranges, manioc flour, coffee, pasta and some vegetables.
