Fraternity Without Borders
All Fraternity Without Borders projects supported by the Alok Institute in Africa comprise the elements of encouraging Entrepreneurship (professional workshops and other opportunities), Social Gastronomy (production and access to food) and Human Development (notably education of children and young people).
The Alok Institute and the humanitarian organization Fraternity Without Borders (FSF) are working in partnership in Mozambique (Acolher Moçambique project), Malawi (Ubuntu Nation) and Madagascar (Madagascar Action).
Mozambique
Bakery – 70 young bakers, 7 women and 63 men, are professionalizing and selling bread in the communities in the region.
The bakery workshop already guarantees work for young people who are able to manage the procedures on their own. Young people leading from the production process of the bakery to the organization of the cashier and customer service. Young people will be certified and will be able to expand sales to other locations.
Sewing workshop – 10 young people and 2 monitors participate in the creation of products that are sold to caravan drivers and project visitors. They are also sent to Brazil, increasing support for the workshop. Gradually, marketing opportunities are emerging in Mozambique, including in stores in Maputo. Among the products are sustainable eco-bag backpacks, made from sacks of rice that were previously discarded.






Malawi
Agriculture – In the Field Mothers Initiative, from the Ubuntu Nation project, 200 women who live in extreme vulnerability participate. In approximately 15 hectares of acquired land, they plant food for the families, assisted by the project and also for income generation.
Biochar and soap workshops – The workshops currently involve 13 apprentices and there is a large investment in expansion! The workshops are conducted by local refugees with the aim of generating income, in addition to contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and deforestation on the planet.
Sewing workshop – The sewing workshop trains and generates income for approximately 10 people and apprentices, most of whom are women. The products are sold to caravan drivers and project visitors, making the workshop self-sustainable.










Madagascar
Ecological bricks and biochar workshop – More than 20 workers and apprentices work in these workshops that are part of the sustainability project, including training and income generation. There are 100 families benefited in the south of the island of Madagascar, in addition to the local community. The bricks, in addition to being sold, are also used in the construction of a school, bakery, caravanners’ house and sports court. The sustainability movement also includes bakery, handicrafts, sewing and soap, involving more than 40 local professionals, dignifying their reality and that of the community.





About FSF
Fraternity without Borders (FSF) is a humanitarian organization based in Campo Grande (MS) with Brazilian and international operations. All works are maintained through donations and mainly through sponsorship. With R$ 50 per month it is possible to contribute to a project and make a difference in the lives of many people.
